This year will be very significant for Bicester Vets. In January, we revamped our waiting room, consulting rooms and reception area. Following this, we embarked on a major refurbishment of offices and administration areas upstairs.

Now, with that work all but completed, we have also commenced a major construction project externally which will add significantly to the facilities we can offer to our patients, whilst also improving the workspaces for our growing team.

Phase one is well underway at the rear of our building. Over the coming months we will see a new Isolation facility and CT imaging suite taking shape in the rear yard.

By mid-summer we’ll have a room ready to temporarily kit-out with dog cages.

This will be essential, as phase two of our build  involves demolishing our existing dog ward ready for a new bigger dog ward, a small exotics ward, new cat ward and an extra operating theatre. Additionally, there will be a second storey which will provide a new meeting room for the practice along with a modern, comfortable staff area for essential down time in the middle of a busy day.

Optimistically, we are hoping for this all to be ready by Christmas so watch this space. The build is more tricky as we aim to stay fully open throughout so we can continue to serve the pets of Bicester when they need us.

Mash was rushed into Bicester Vets after his owners felt he “wasn’t right” and didn’t seem able to stand properly at home

We are all horrified that someone’s pet cat could be shot like this and are thankful that the pellet stopped short of the chest.
