A timely reminder as the weather gets colder of the dangers of antifreeze to pets if they drink it. Antifreeze can have a sweet flavour and some cats especially seem to be drawn to it.
The consequences, particularly for cats, can be disastrous. Pets start by looking a bit drunk and in-coordinated but rapidly progress to kidney failure which can often be fatal. Rapid treatment is vital but unfortunately not always successful.
Prevention is the key so ensure that you car radiator isn’t dripping in the driveway & if you do top up the car, please ensure that any spills are cleaned up thoroughly.
I have used Bicester vets for years and have found both staff and vets just wonderful. Reception staff are always helpful and caring. As for the vets and their patience and dedication, along with a welcome smile and sensitive manner, Bicester vets is just amazing and I would happily recommend them to anyone wishing for a caring and compassionate approach.
They are always willing to explain things thoroughly and where options for treatment are available for your pet, this too is explained in detail. I don’t have a car and my cat who gets very stressed being put in a cat carrier I request a home visit whenever she has been unwell – They never question this, nor make you feel guilty for asking for one, and this is invaluable to me.
Excellent team of vets!Jill

We all enjoyed learning how the Medical Detection Dogs charity started and how they are helping to save lives every day
Massive thank you to Lucy for saving Keano when we bought him in with gastric dilation volvulus (bloat)
